Dear Customer,

At Freight Systems, we are committed to keeping our clients informed about any developments that may affect our services. There have been significant disruptions to both air and sea freight operations due to Typhoon Ragasa. The typhoon has already caused extensive damage in the Philippines and is now impacting southern China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Current Impact Overview

  • Cathay Pacific has announced the cancellation of over 500 flights, including both inbound and outbound services at Hong Kong International Airport, starting from 6:00 PM on September 23. Operations are expected to resume during daytime hours on Thursday.
  • Emirates Airlines has suspended all services to Hong Kong and Shenzhen between September 23 and 25. This includes 11 flights from Dubai to these cities and the shuttle service between Hong Kong and Bangkok.
  • Qatar Airways is expected to experience delays on flights to and from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and surrounding regions due to the typhoon.
  • Hong Kong International Airport is bracing for a potential 36-hour shutdown, impacting thousands of flights.

Impact on Freight Operations

  • Air Freight: Significant delays and cancellations are expected for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Sea Freight: Ports in southern China may experience closures or operational slowdowns. Vessel schedules could be affected, leading to potential delays in cargo handling and delivery.
  • Customs and Clearance: Customs operations may be disrupted, leading to potential delays in clearance times.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Regards,

Team Freight Systems
