Dear Valuable Customer,
At Freight Systems, we are committed to keeping our clients informed about any developments that may affect our services. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has caused significant disruptions across global trade lanes. Escalating geopolitical tensions have begun affecting carrier operations, vessel routing, insurance premiums, bunker costs, and overall operational risk.
In response, several major and regional shipping lines have announced immediate freight rate increases along with the implementation of emergency surcharges, war risk premiums, and other cost adjustments across multiple trade routes. These changes are effective immediately. Due to the exceptional circumstances, carriers have also advised that these revised rates will apply to long-term contractual agreements. The situation remains dynamic and further pricing volatility may occur in the near term.
What this means for your shipments:
• Previously agreed freight rates may no longer remain valid for shipments that have not yet sailed.
• Carriers are implementing rate revisions with little or no prior notice.
• Additional surcharges may apply depending on routing, transshipment hubs, and sailing schedules.
• Rate validity will be subject to carrier confirmation at the time of booking and sailing.
We are actively engaging with carriers and will continue to keep you informed of any changes in freight rates, schedules, and applicable surcharges. However, due to carrier-imposed increases, we regret that we will need to pass on the ocean freight increases on a pro-rata per CBM basis, over and above the existing contractual rates previously agreed.
Freight Systems remains committed to supporting your supply chain needs and ensuring continuity of service during these challenging times. Should you require any assistance, please contact your respective Customer Service representative or your commercial representative at Freight Systems.
Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in our services.
We wish you and your families continued safety and well-being.
Regards,
Team Freight Systems
