Operational Disruption at Mumbai Airport Export Cargo Area

Table of contents

Dear Customer,

At Freight Systems, we believe in keeping you informed of any developments that may impact your shipments. We wish to notify you of a serious incident at the Mumbai Airport Export Cargo Area that has unfortunately resulted in the loss of a Customs House Agent (CHA). In response, the Custom House Broker Union has announced a strike effective 17 February 2026, which will remain in effect until additional safety measures are implemented within the cargo complex.

Furthermore, the Air Cargo Customs facility has been temporarily closed by the CHA authorities to enable an official investigation. Consequently, all customs clearance activities and vehicle movements at the terminal are currently suspended.

Shipment Impact:
• Customs clearance operations are on hold.
• Vehicle movements at the terminal have been halted.
• A minimum delay of 2 days is anticipated, subject to reopening and approvals from the police and customs authorities.

As a result, clearance and delivery of consignments may be delayed until further notice.
Please be assured that our team is closely monitoring the situation and remains in constant coordination with the concerned authorities to resume operations at the earliest. We will keep you promptly updated on any developments and notify you once shipments are scheduled for clearance and release.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time. For any urgent assistance, please contact your respective Freight Systems representative.

Regards,

Team Freight Systems
