Panama Canal Draught Restrictions Update

Freight Systems has a policy to always keep its customers abreast of any changes that may impact on our services. We would like to inform you on the prevailing weather conditions in Chennai, a factor currently influencing waterlogging and disruptions in port and air cargo operations.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Chennai and neighboring districts. A cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka, coupled with a low-pressure system, is expected to result in light to moderate rainfall, with isolated instances of heavy rain in coastal and adjoining districts from November 29 to December 3.

Considering the forecasted heavy rainfall, we anticipate potential disruptions to our freight operations in Chennai, leading to delays in air and sea cargo arrivals and departures.

Our teams continue to the weather condition and are in contact with port authorities for new developments that might affect operations. We will continue to share updates with you as soon as more information is available. Please feel free to reach out to our customer service or sales team if you need any further assistance related to this. Please write to us at info@freightsystems.com.

We appreciate your ongoing support and understanding as we navigate through these challenges.

Kind Regards,

Your Freight Systems Team
